Privacy Policy

1. Landing page (celdrive.dev)

This website is served by GitHub Pages. GitHub logs basic request data (IP, user agent, timestamp) for abuse prevention; see GitHub's privacy statement. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

If you submit the notify-when-live form, your email is sent to us via FormSubmit. We use it only to notify you about launch milestones. Unsubscribe any time by replying "unsubscribe."

2. Paid tiers (Cloud, Pro, Team)

If you subscribe to a paid tier, we collect:

• Account email — to authenticate your account and send service notices.
• Billing info — processed by Stripe. We do not store card details; we only store a Stripe customer ID.
• Usage metadata — bucket size, last sync timestamp, error logs for the purpose of support and capacity planning. We do not inspect file contents.

Your file contents are stored in the cloud region you select (e.g., US-East, EU-West). Files are encrypted at rest by the underlying provider (typically AES-256). We do not access file contents. A decryption key derived from your account password (never transmitted in plaintext) is required for restore.

3. Third parties

If you use paid tiers, these third parties receive limited data from us in order to provide the service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Receives your email, billing address, and payment method.
• Cloud storage vendor (Backblaze, Cloudflare, Oracle, iDrive, depending on your selected region) — stores your encrypted file data.
• Email provider (Postmark or similar) — delivers transactional emails (receipts, password reset).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data retention

• If you cancel a paid subscription, your stored files remain accessible for 30 days, then deleted.
• Account email and billing records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance, then deleted.
• Notify-list emails are deleted if you request, or automatically 18 months after collection if inactive.

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

• Export your data using the DriveWare restore command, or by downloading directly from the managed bucket via a presigned URL on request.
• Delete your account — email hello@celdrive.dev or use the account portal when available.
• Access a copy of data we hold about you — within 30 days of request.

EU/UK users: you have rights under GDPR. California residents: you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.

6. Children

DriveWare is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes

We will post material changes to this policy on this page and, for paid-tier subscribers, notify you by email at least 30 days in advance of changes taking effect.
